Honeywell TH8320WF Wi-Fi Programmable Thermostat
This thermostat works on 24 volt systems. It will NOT work on 120/240 volt systems.
This thermostat contains a Lithium battery which may contain Perchlorate material. Perchlorate Material—special handling may apply.

Wiring
Terminal Designations
Conventional Terminal Letters:
- Y2 2nd stage compressor contactor.
- W2 2nd stage heat relay.
- K Optional wirer save module.
- S1 Optional outdoor or remote sensor.
- S2 Optional outdoor or remote sensor.
- Rc Cooling power. Connect to secondary side of cooling system transformer.
- R Heating power. Connect to secondary side of heating system transformer.
- W 1st stage heat relay.
- Y 1st stage compressor contactor.
- G Fan relay.
- C Common wire from the secondary side of cooling transformer (if 2 transformers).
Heat Pump Terminal Letters:
- Y2 2nd stage compressor contactor.
- L Heat pump reset (powered continuously
- when System is set to Em Heat; system
- monitor when set to Heat, Cool or Off).
- E/Aux Auxiliary/Emergency heat relay.
- K Optional wirer save module.
- S1 Optional outdoor or remote sensor.
- S2 Optional outdoor or remote sensor.
- Rc Cooling power. Connect to secondary side
- of cooling system transformer.
- R Heating power. Connect to secondary side
- of heating system transformer.
- O/B Changeover valve for heat pumps.
- Y 1st stage compressor contactor.
- G Fan relay.
- C Common wire from secondary side of cooling system transformer.

Setting functions and options
You can change options for a number of system functions. Available functions depend on the type of system you have. The functions, designated with four-digit numbers, along with available options are described on pages 3–6
This thermostat is pre-set for a single-stage heating/cooling system.
Setting function 0170 for a heat pump will adjust the default settings.
- Press SYSTEM.
- Press and hold the two blank keys on either side of the center blank key for approximately five seconds until the screen changes.
- Cycle through the functions, and press st next to the four-digit number on the left.
- As needed, change options for any function by pressing st next to the number on the right.
- When you have made all changes, press DONE to save and exit.

Troubleshooting
If you have difficulty with your thermostat, please try the following suggestions. Most problems can be corrected quickly and easily.
Display is blank
- Check the circuit breaker and reset if necessary.
- Make sure the power switch at the heating and cooling system is on.
- Make sure the furnace door is closed securely.
- Make sure C wire is connected.
“Wait” appears on the screen
- The compressor protection feature is engaged. Wait 5 minutes for the system to restart safely, without damage to the compressor.
The button on the lower right of the screen is blank
- This button will remain blank unless the furnace filter change reminder is activated.
The red light is on
- If the thermostat is in Emergency Heat mode the red light is normal. It shows that the thermostat is in emergency heat mode.
The heating or cooling system does not respond
- Check the circuit breaker and reset if necessary.
- Make sure the power switch at the heating & cooling system is on.
- Make sure the furnace door is closed securely.
- If “Wait” is displayed, the compressor protection timer is on. Wait 5 minutes for the system to restart safely, without damaging the compressor.
The heating system is running in cool mode
- Check Function 0170: System Type to make sure it is set to match your heating and cooling equipment (see page 4).
